Italian Surgical Hospital,Tripoli, Syria

Description

Opened officially in 1932 the building has four floors (one underground) and a U form plan. Most of the materials of the construction were from Italy. Although the equipment was very advanced, the design of the facade is old and it reminds neoclassic style. The facade is marked by pilaster strips of a giant architectural order which set on a basement realized in an imitation of ashlar-work.
