Elevation and plan. This road bridge over the Nile at Kafr El-Zayat is 500 meters long and weights more than 3000 tons. It is composed of six fixed and one swing spans. The deck is carrying roadway and the cantilevered sidewalks rest on three similar plate web girders with a uniform height.
